March Sunshine Croyde- Art Print

Hiked up to the top of the big sand dune in Croyde today to paint this view. Perched on my dune top spot, I saw a heron slow flap glide above and gracefully dip down into the sheltered spot behind the dunes. Moments later a red kite zoomed by at eye level , before hovering on the breeze looking for its lunch below. Beautiful moments all bathed in warm March sunshine.

Mid morning walk in the gently warming sunshine on Croyde beach looking across to the mist slowly burning off over Saunton Down and Downend, sun rays illuminating the wisps as if they were steam from a hot bath.

In the shadows you were sharply reminded that it was still the middle of January, with its raw Winter chill, but out of the shade and sheltered from the light offshore breeze you could definitely feel some warmth in the sun.

Flecks of highlights caught the rooftops of the small cluster of buildings as well as the path down to the beach and the road snaking up out of the village.

A morning full of calm and stillness.

"Low tide Croyde-Autumn" - wet ground, slippy mud path out to the point, heavy showers dive bomb out of the horizon. Still warm sunlight battles through cumulus clouds to momentarily add hope to a surf check chilled by the light Easterly.

Autumn the season of fresh swells, fading warmth and the early feelings of hibernation.
