Some find Winter a harsh, barren, cold time of the year.
It’s easy to agree with them on those tupperware grey days. Where the drizzle and mist and damp cold get into your bones and the lack of light, makes you want to hibernate into your cave.
On the other hand, there are the crisp, clear fresh days when the high pressure sits on top us. The coast is bathed in a clarity that you don’t see during the warmer months.
If anything, the coast feels like it is recharging, having a good old sort out. Gales blowing the beaches into new shapes and big seas washing clean the shores. On top of that every evening’s light stretches out and feels a little bit brighter for longer.
Here are a few of my recent paintings from the Winter, along with some new additions to the studio and travel sketches page from Greece and Italy.
I hope you enjoy them!
Have a great day!
