Travel less, see more.

I heard this saying on a radio show recently and it struck a chord with me and my activities or rather lack of them this year so far.
One of the surprises this year has been the amount of observations that I have made all within an hour of where I live on the coast in North Devon.
Walks and drives that I routinely made from A to B, without truly noting the the bits inbetween, suddenly became new avenues to explore and discover.
Even after thirty odd years I was amazed to still find new ways to paint scenes that I thought that I’d already paid enough brush time too.
it goes to show you that you can see so much more, if you really look hard at what’s around you.
Spring proved to be a particularly rewarding and nourishing experience this year. it’s always been one of my favourite seasons, but it felt so much more intense and optimistic this year. With such a warm start to April , the coastal wild flowers were resplendent.
It’s with great pleasure that I have released my series of “Coastal Spring” paintings , made on my micro travels, now available in my online shop.
I hope you enjoy the travels from my doorstep.
Have a beautiful day!
Best wishes,
Steve.
